Hello,

I have found a 2nd hand EX5R in good condition and price (320 US$). The problem is that I was planning to add a XV-5050 or Fantom XR to my setup (Motif ES7). I would have bought the EX5R at first sight, if I hadn’t already got a similar keyboard, Motif ES7 -and with PLG150-VL board installed.

But the deal seems very very good, doesn’t it? What do you think?

EX5R seems to have 256 presets +256 user = 512
Does it have pianos, E.P.’s, brasses, etc.?
Or is it only good if you want to create your own leads, sound effects, etc.?

Any idea if its AN synthesis is ‘onboard’ or installed ‘on to the board’ like other PLG expansion boards? If it is instelled like a PLG board, than I may uninstall the board and install it to my Motif ES. :)

I have to decide fast, because it could be sold any moment.

There are no PLG boards involved, the EX5 has multiple synthesis engines built in.

The $320 price is good.

I think you will find an EX5 very similar to the Motif ES overall. Because of that it’s a poor choice if you are looking for something different.
