You can use USB Flash Drive to export finshed track from MOX right? What’s the easiest way to track out all the instruments and maintaining perfect quality? Thanks!

Motif XF - I saw some other web say it has 1664 voices and 97 drum kits, why the yamahasynth.com listed different?

I’m kinda stuck between this two synth. XF is double the cost but is it worth it?.. some one break it down for me!

First, welcome to the forums.

You can use USB Flash Drive to export finshed track from MOX right?

No. That is a feature found on the S-series and the Motif-series. The USB “To Device” port can be used for storage devices where it writes data files, it does not write a .wav files like its bigger siblings.

The USB connection on the MO-X does have its own unique feature, it can stream stereo (2 CH) or dual stereo (4 CH) audio to a connected computer DAW (in addition to 5 ports of bi-directional MIDI communication).

What’s the easiest way to track out all the instruments and maintaining perfect quality?

Connect the MO-X to your computer via USB and record directly to a DAW software program. The MO-X comes with a USB cable and Cubase AI in the box - but the MO-X can be used by virtually any DAW capable of using an ASIO driver.

When working with the internal multi MIXING setup and in the “2StereoRecord” (dual Stereo) mode, USB 1/2 are used for the stereo A/D INPUT and for any assigned internal PART or PARTS you designate to go to that output. USB 3/4 are where the internal PARTS of the MO-X are normally defaulted.

It is a very workable workflow: Develop tracks in the MO-X, monitoring them through 3/4 and then render them to audio via USB 1/2.

If you just want a stereo mix, you can do them all together, but if you want to track them separately you can simply assign a PART to a discreet pair of output and record that to your DAW. It is really quite easy to do.

It depends on if you count the GM bank and the GM Drum kit.
