if i try to compare Virus Ti vs Motif XS , Virus Ti editor is miles ahead better, because of 2 things.First u can have as many sound banks u want at you’re fingertips because of the editor.

LET ME BE MORE CLEAR. For example now i have 60 sound banks INSIDE VIRUS Ti editor.And for 1 project i can use as many sound banks i want with no effort .with only one mouse click inside the editor.

With Motif i need to erase a sound bank to make room and load the next one, with complicated boring and frustrating steps. With Virus there is no effort on accessing sounds.Because accessing new sounds , don’t depend of hardware sound slots.

Second . Ti have two windows for browsing, arranging sounds and by that u can move one sound directly to another bank , with mouse drag and paste. I feel like Virus Ti is made WITH LOVE FOR THE COSTUMERS.

With Motif XS i have no flexibility using the editor when compared to Virus Ti editor power. I feel like Motif is made without costumer care and love. And i have a bad feeling like Motifator is just a trick .....(i don’t want to give details about that)

So i can’t work with XS this way. With that stupid Motif editor i have no pleasure to work.Is so rigid !!. And after i touch the Virus Ti editor i feel like a fool because i buyed the rude Motif XS. We are in 2010 wtf ??. Is not 1990. I can’t understand why Yamaha is NOT learning from the lovely ACCESS team ?. Is about true flexibility for the costumer, and not only marketing for the money…

Yes i love ACCESS and i’m ready to buy a new virus next month and every year i will buy a new virus. I’m planing to have 3 Virus Ti modules & 2 Virus Ti polars. And i already have Virus TI big keyboard black...Why i do this ??. Is simmple. Because Ti looks fantastic and is super flexible. And is made with love for the buyers. In the next 20 years i will end up with 20 Viruses ))

motif XS is not road ready.

Road ready? My hard flight case works just fine! And my tech is always on stand by so if any bullet proofing needs to be reinforced.... well nothing has come up thus far.

I try to find solutions about how to work efficiently with XS.But is not working… let’s imagine another scenario. For example i have 12 sound banks, all 12 containing waveforms. And i like all 12. So i load all 12 inside XS wave RAM. So i end up with all waveforms inside XS. After that i save the file as an all file, and every time i power on XS this file containing all waveforms will load automatically. OK until now..

So now having all waveforms from all 12 sound banks inside XS, but having only 3 USR slots, i expect only to use the editor, if i want a quick re audition of the other 9 banks that don’t fit XS 3 USR slots limit.  So if i use the editor i expect to load the presets quickly directly from my PC >> to XS, because alllll waveforms are already inside XS. But the problem starts now !!!!.

So XS don’t know how to do that and the editor will freeze or restart. And if it’s working the sound’s will become a mess because XS will forget exactly what waveforms you’re user sound needs..

Yes please try to load all you’re 10 sound banks containing waveforms, inside XS . And after that, try to use the EDITOR for QUICK re audition ad u will find out that is not working. XS&XS;editor will not know what to do and in the final you’re sounds will become a mess because XS will not recognize exactly what waveforms you’re re audition sounds needs

ok i find the trick is possible !!!.XS can act like Virus Ti in sound management. But is a little to complicated. This level is for advanced gurus and not normal gurus. Yepp ! I can have all waveforms of my all sound banks loaded inside XS RAM memory and i can actually reload any sound bank without loading the waveforms again. SO NOW I DON’T NEED MORE THAN 3 USER BANKS. Basically i load only the sound settings because the waveforms are already in XS. So from now i don’t need to wait for sound banks to load. I load the waveforms only when i start XS.And after that i load any of my sound banks in just 2 seconds. Yep ! is possible . I can load ,erase, and reload 10 sound banks without loading the waveforms.

So Motif XS can really act like Virus TI. Not really the same level but XS come close after u prepare you’re sound banks.

This level is for advanced gurus and not normal gurus.

I’ll keep my Nord Lead 3 which cost me $1200 on eBay three years ago, I’m also buying the Dave Smith Instruments Mopho Analog Synth which is monophonic but sounds amazing and has an editor.

P.D. I know Mopho does not compare to Polar becuase it’s analog and monophonic but it’s quite a good sytnh.
