Hi everybody.  It’s been a while.  I haven’t posted much hear in the past two years because I can’t stand the new site layout.  Anyway, I’m thinking about getting an XF6 when it comes out.  The features, especially the flash RAM and the huge wave ROM sound very appealing.  I have a Tyros2, and I’d like for the XF to replace it when I’m on the road.  I know that the XF has the T2 trumpet shakes, but does it have the brass shakes, rises, and falls from the T2?  Also, does it have better DX7 EP sounds than the XS?

Ouch… that sound went out in the 80’s.

I’ve tried the XF and DX7 EP sound similar with XS...and can’t will be like an original DX 7 cause they used AWM2 (not FM)
Just buy FS1R module and you will get original EP sound DX 7 or if you have a lot of money just buy CP1 that will give you EP sound from original DX 7 also :)

cheers

Well, I could probably get the ES version of the DX sound I’m looking for, which is better than the one on the XS.  My main concern right now are the brass waveforms.  I’d like to have all the features of the Motif series, with those T2 brass sounds.  If they’re there, that’s great.  If they’re not there, I’ll have to do some programming using regular brass sounds combined with some trumpet shake waveforms.

For everyone’s info, I currently use my T2 mostly as a live instrument in a band setting, so I don’t use the arranger features.  I currently use the Sweet Growl Sax on quite a fiew songs, and the brass shakes on one song, but I hope to do some songs in the future that will use the brass rises and falls, along with the shakes.  I’m not worried so much about the sax, because I’ve heard a really good sax sound on an XF demo video.  The S6 piano, to me, from what I’ve heard of it, sounds just as good as the T2 piano, so no worries there.

I’m getting conflicting sources on whether the XF is actually out yet or not.  I’ve read somewhere that it won’t be out until October, but I’ve read somewhere else that it’s already out.  None of the music stores here have it yet.
