So a user can do all the sampling, editing, sequencing features etc, immediately or do users have to wait for a 6 month OS upgrade?

“the color will be available out of the box. “

Who cares about a black color, silver was better anyway.

Actually it’s a good question. On Monday, here in the US we will open all the Motif XF (which arrived in our warehouse on Friday) and update all the US units from version 1.0 to version 1.1.

There are actually many new features in 1.1 including loading multiple samples from a folder at the same time, category search for arps and waveforms and new load and copy functions for the Flash boards.

We understand the plan in other parts of the world is ship with version 1.0 and the 1.1 version OS update will be available on Yamahasynth.com at the very beginning of September.

So the answer to the question, what features are included out of the box is in the US everything and other places version 1.0 features only.

In the US the XF will include all the features discussed here “out of the box”’ because we will open the box here and update all the units we . An exact same situation happened with the XS actually.

Other areas don’t have the logistic capability to do these very large warehouse service projects and so must rely on the end users to update.

We will post the manual for the XF and for the OS update on Monday.

...but after few dollar upgrade 128MB is 1920MB less than you can have in XS.

I think their new goal is to get you to buy the XF and Flash option. Then you’ll be happy, and they’ll be happy.

They say it’s better for your health less doctor bills. That way you don’t get sick or tired and fatigued from waiting on the sounds and samples to load to DIMM memory modules. Or from having to run forty blocks off the stage from being chased by crowds after telling them it may take another forty five minutes to load your concert soundset.
