hello,
maybe if i make my original post smaller i could get an answer.here’s the quick version. i only have hs50’s , did i mess up thinking this would be appropriate for sound programming drums and synth leads?
should my next buy be the sub woofer or hs80’s .

what i’ld really like to do is buy the whole family, 50-80 and the woofer but would that be too much overkill?

Questions like this don’t make a lot of sense really. Listen to your synth through a half-decent pair of headphones and listen to it through your speakers. If the two are broadly equivalent then you’re fine for voice programming.

If the sound is markedly different (there will be differences, but do they sound radically different?) then maybe you need to upgrade your speakers.

Don’t buy gear because of it’s model number, buy it because it works for you in your own situation.

Df.
