Is it possible to enable the modulation wheel so as to control the leslie effect when playing along with pattern mode and using an organ voice from one of the tracks?  I really need to be able to solve this for live playing along with my patterns. I only really need it when I’m playing an organ voice. I did see on the forum how to disable it in say, the piano voice, but I can’t see how to enable it when in pattern or song mode.  Got to be somewhere in the utilities setting one would think.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Welcome to the forums.

No, it’s not in the UTILITY mode.

Here’s what is going on. The “Rotary Speaker” Effect is an INSERTION EFFECT. This is an effect that is considered apart of the VOICE itself. When you call up any VOICE in VOICE mode, the INSERTION A and INSERTION B effects are those that give the VOICE its personality. Each Element within a VOICE can be routed to one or the other or both of these 2 INSERTION effects before that VOICE is sent to the SYSTEM (REVERB/CHORUS) Effects.

An example of an INSERTION Effect in the real world would be one that ‘belongs’ to the individual musician and is not shared by anyone else. Think: Guitar players wah-wah and distortion, the Electric pianos Auto-Pan and Phaser, the Organs Rotary Speaker and Overdrive. In each case the individual instrument is literally inserted into (routed directly into) the processor. And that instrument alone uses this effect, the signal is “inline”, the musician also has real-time control over its process… they can control the effect as they perform.

When these musician all get together in the STUDIO (the MO-X PATTERN or SONG mode) three of the band members can bring their INSERTION EFFECTS to the studio. That is, the MO-X has ennough processing muscle so that not only your lead VOICE selection, but two other PARTS can also utilize their INSERTION EFFECTS when you go to the Multi-timbral modes.

The Studio provides the Reverberation and Time Delay effects (responsible for overall band room acoustics)- the so-called SYSTEM Effects. These work like the AUX SENDS on a mixer - each channel has a SEND knob, and the RETURN from the SYSTEM Effect is mixed back to the main output.

You determine which 3 of the 16 PARTS will recall their INSERTION EFFECTS with a INSERT EFFECT ON/OFF SWITCH per PART.
From your PATTERN or SONG
Press [MIXING] - Mixing is where you would look for parameter concerning the tone generator of the MOX
Press [F6] EFFECT> - this is a shortcut to the EFFECT EDIT screen
Press [SF2] INS SW (INSERTION SWITCHES)

Here you will find an OFF/ON for each of the 16 synth PARTS and the A/D INPUT PART. Only three ON selections can be made. Only 3 can say ON at a time, so you may need to deactivate a PART’s ON switch in order to change the selection.

Make sure your organ PART is one of the three PART marked ON. This will allow it to recall it dual INSERTION EFFECTS from VOICE mode. Say your VOICE in PART 1, Make sure INSERTION SWITCH = ON for Slot1. That is all you need do. The VOICE in PART 1 will now be able to recall its INSERTION EFFECTS as they were applied in VOIE mode, and the MW will work to change the SPEED CONTROL of the Rotation. When an INSERTION EFFECT is activated, the real time control of the effect parameters will automatically be activated.

Press [STORE] to write your changes to FLASH ROM.

Thanks a lot Mr BadMister. By going through these forums really helps. I just happened to find myself stuck in this situation in Song mode, and realized the MW for Organ is not working in Song Mode, but working in Voice mode. The Pitch Bend is working well though. Going through the MOXf8 manuals and Reference manual is really a pain. Would be great if these PDF manuals have “search” function.
Spending my time in looking for answers in this forum is better and faster than searching in the Manual/Reference Manual.

Thanks again.

While the forum can be very helpful, I’m surprised about your comment concerning the PDF manuals. Most PDF readers have both “Find” and “Search” functions under “Edit”.
