Does anyone know of a way to edit control change 7 (volume) by percentage?  On the Motif XF the Play FX takes care of editing the velocity by percentage, but I’d like to preserve the Expression changes when I alter the general track’s cc7.  Thanks!

I’ve read your post a few times, and I’m still unsure of what the issue is. Hopefully the following will help…

CC#7 controls MIDI Channel Volume, 0~127. CC#11/Expression also controls Volume, but at CC#11’s maximum value Volume is limited to that set by CC#7/Volume. So even with CC#11/Expression at 127, the Volume can’t exceed what CC#7 is set to.

For example:
If CC#7 is set to 127 (maximum), then CC#11/Expression ranging 0~127 can control the full possible Volume range, 0~127.

If CC#7 is set to 100, CC#11/Expression ranging 0~127 will provide levels of Volume ranging from 0 to 100.

If CC#7 is set to 64, CC#11/Expression ranging 0~127 will provide levels of Volume ranging from 0 to 64.
