How difficult is it to change the memory battery inside the Motif Classic 7?
Thanks

What indication do you have that the battery is needing to be changed? |

Thanks for your interest. No indication of trouble, so far, BUT I’ve heard that the batteries last 7 to 10 years. My board is older than that range and I am anticipating a problem. If the change is as simple as taking off the bottom and plunking in a new battery, then I’m up for that now. If it requires a multi-level disassembly of the Motif, then I’ll have second thoughts. Have you swapped a battery on a Motif 7 classic?

The Motif Classic displays “Change internal battery” when the battery gets low. At that time, backing up your data should be done before replacement.
The Classic uses a CR2450 “coin” cell. Once the bottom cover is removed…
Motif 6/7/8 Service Manual:
I have an XS6 and XF6, which rely on flash memory, so neither requires battery replacement. |

You’re welcome.
I like what it says at the top of the page…
