I’m trying to configure the most CPU/resource friendly MIDI setup I can. Right now I have the MO through USB and a Triton Rack (TR) running through a Unitor 8 (External MIDI box). If I don’t use the MO’s remote control, wouldn’t it make more sense for me to have the TR and the MO BOTH running through the Unitor and no USB? Why or why not? |

Re: Do I really NEED the USB Connection???
No, you do not have to use the USB interface on the Motif, you can go through the regular midi in and out and you are fine.

Re: Do I really NEED the USB Connection??? Isn’t MIDI a whole lot slower than USB? |

Re: Do I really NEED the USB Connection??? Good question. I think too many USB connections can be bad, though. I run everything through the Unitor 8 MKII now and latency has been pretty much eliminated. Go figure. |

Re: Do I really NEED the USB Connection??? If no USB connection is made, then how can files be transferred from the computer to the SmartMedia in the Mo (and vice versa) utilizing the software that came with the Motif?? |
