Re: Motif Rack OS Update and Multi Part Editor
I’ve seen LOTS of stuff about the timing issue with the Mo Rack but nothing since the update came out. Has anyone actually confirmed that the timing issue is now fixed?

Re: Motif Rack OS Update and Multi Part Editor
Keyboard Magazine confirmed in their review that the OS update addressed the issue.

Re: Motif Rack OS Update and Multi Part Editor Can anyone confirm that the new OS has fixed the Motif Rack midi timing issue? Mike Martin said “Keyboard Magazine confirmed in their review that the OS update addressed the issue” but I want to know if this issue has been fixed rather than “addressed”. I sold my Motif Rack a while ago because of this problem but if it has indeed been fixed, I will gladly buy another. |

Re: Motif Rack OS Update and Multi Part Editor
OK I was finally able to successfully update my rack this morning with my wife’s help and her computer. Unfortunately it appears that the update did not solve my sys ex problem with regard to my Alesis MMT-8 sequencer however I was able to use the SQ01 that came on the CD rom. Thank God Yamaha included the SQ01 with the rack or I’d be sh%& out of luck.. Now I guess I ‘ll just have to hurry up and get a computer for sequencing. /forums/images/icons/blush.gif alt=) I still love my Alesis though and will really miss this user friendly sequencer for old guys afraid of computers.

Re: Motif Rack OS Update and Multi Part Editor
You can. If you manage to get along with the user interface on the rack itself there is no need to use a PC.

If you use the joystick port be *very sure* that your bulk dump is not broken. I have seen sound cards that have a too small buffer and lose data when *receiving* the bulk dump.

Re: Motif Rack OS Update and Multi Part Editor
Interesting… I haven’t had time to update my OS yet. Should I save myself some headache and just buy a USB cable? I was going to first try the update using the joystick port on my SB soundcard (as you can tell, I still have not incorporated the computer into my setup).

Why not give it a shot? Just make sure that the bulk dumps are reliable.
