i am quite happy with my new motif xs8
i´ve got some problems with sampling quality. recently i bougth 1gb ram and tried to sample form differend sources. mic, line with different resolution. all without success. there is always noise on the signal. i also did a reset of motif, update with the lastest version and so on.
is there a hardware problem or am i too silly to use my “baby”?
please advice

Re: sampling proplems

What do you mean by “noise”? Do you mean background noise (the noise in the room when you record with a microphone), do you mean
a constant hissing noise that is always the same level and same pitch in every recording, do you mean clicks or buzzes - we need more information.

Unless you are recording in a room that is dead quiet (or you use
a noise gate inserted into your signal path -

you will always have some background noise on a recording.

If you are recording from a CD player or computer, there can be noise in the outputs of the CD player or computer itself, or you can have a mismatch with cables going from your source to the Motif.

If you are recording a signal from a guitar or another keyboard, there can be noise coming from those instruments themselves.
