Whats going yall. It’s been a while since I’ve been on(too long lol). But I got some new beats on my page. I like the west coast one. I would definitely layer that clap sound with maybe one or even 2 more clap sounds. The concept here is definitely west coast. Play around with the stereo field a little bit though (panning). It sounds like everything is panned center. Spatial separation will really bring this track out. I listened to some others. You have a good sound going on. I’m definitely feeling that Timbo one. Throw a change in there though. Could be a simple 2 bar turnaround (like what you have in the Kanye West track). I like your tracks, like others have said it just needs a little seperation. Maybe eq the individual tracks - i dunno.

As far as naming your tracks - Snoop track or Timbo or Kanye track....... forget that… Make your own sound.....

then somebody can say - Yo, check out this Ream type beat. Feel me?

To be honest… I’ve just started to discover “Spectrum Mixing”.

It really helps - In a nutshell, Go thru your individual tracks and let’s say its cymbals and its ez to tell that thats a HIGH pitch sound, so I’d eq that track by removing the Low and Mid down to zero or almost zero /

Lets say its your kick drum - Ez to tell thats a LOW pitch sound, I’d remove the high/mids off that track and only keep the Low knob where it is....

that’s a small example but do that to all your tracks and that will give you some seperation before the master eq.

No problem. Did I have to mention panning? Left,Right-Center. etc.....
