Re: THE BROTHERHOOD (read first)

Hi J.W

Very emotional and beautiful theme. I really felt as if we all are holding hands across the world, the brother hood based on love for music. The brotherhood that doesn’t recognize the boundry of color, language and religion. I am honored to be a part of this and will always be a part.

Thanks for your music,

btw i was expecting some vocal.

Peace

Re: THE BROTHERHOOD (read first)

i wasn’t expecting vocals for the record..thats a cool thing you wrote. the brotherhood..i can hear the influences in there , new instruments being used, new, hard to explain but when i post something in here i have 2 feelings about it yes and no. no because the level of music in here and what get’s done is to me one word amazing. i feel like i’m in the wrong forum , i need the beginners class lol, but then yes because i think everyone in here’s pretty cool, they give some good feedback or a couple of tips here and there, some mixing ideas , and best of all encouragement. so this was cool can’t wait to hear where you take your next one

Re: THE BROTHERHOOD (read first)

Hey thanks fellas, yes I put the time and efforts into this track.
I listened to different types and styles of music here and over the internet, for about two weeks.
Here, I get all types of music, and I am inspired by what we do for eachother.

Now actually, there was going to be vocals on this track, but my confidence is NOT there yet, so I left out the vocal chours that was suppose to be tracked.

DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS,,very yes,,new stuff from the FREE DCP DOWNLOAD,,and the Yamaha pack as well.
The congas, were not played by me, they are on Pattern 15 section A,,,nice rythem to get you started.

I wanted to have an Ethnic feel to this track, to reflect times of old, when mankind seemed to stick togethr through the worst of times,,,thus this site, you guys, and the music we all create.

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE INSPIRATION.  /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt=

Jerry,

I am very highly impressed with this song of yours.  It is so embodied with feeling, and I feel that the title fits this work of art perfectly.  This is REAL NICE.

Keep up the very good work.

Re: THE BROTHERHOOD (read first)

Thank you Nathan, Frank and Micheal, for the very kind and encouraging words.
Theis truely means a lot to me, as I push forward in my musical endevors this year.
Since music is the ONLY skill I have, I intending on using this gift from God to it’s fullest, by all that is within me to do so.

Next track is ironically titled “GOD” lol
Ahead of time, excuse the vocals, which will come from my pure heart, you have been warned..LOL

If I choose not to sing, like I’ve done so in the past, the lead instrument will be played with the same emotional effect, as I would have sung it in.

STAY TUNED AND THANK AGIAN FOR LISTENING.

Re: THE BROTHERHOOD (read first)

Hey Jerry,

Cracking beat you have there. Loving the little brass bits and the twang of that Bass. I take it the flute is supposed to be the vocal line. Maybe you should bite the bullet my friend and dip your toe in the water of vocals......I know you’d rock it.......push yourself and you can only get better........

Sterling work. I think the forum should do a BIG colab. Someone sets a beat, next person adds bass, next person strings or whatever, but you’re only allowed to add one instrument. What do you reckon ??

Mark.

Re: THE BROTHERHOOD (read first)

Hey Mark, good to hear from you my brother.
LOL I’ve been trying to get people to do that collab thing for years now.
Back in 2003, a brother that went by the name trtjazz, whom is also the one that taught me music theory, use to be able to get people on here to collaborate on tracks all the time.
Man, we use to have a blast around these parts. LOL

Thanks for listening to my song,,but no singing for me, not YET.

Re: THE BROTHERHOOD (read first)

There has been some collaborated projects in the last year.

Mr and Michael did “sospirendo” and Jan and michael both improvised on one of jerry’s grooves a while back.

But i guess some of us raise our hands to which instrument we wanna play and work on one theme like maybe jazzy or any thing for that mater.

I raise me hand to “Guitar” part. let’s start the ball rolling.

any other’s ? LOL
