When layering voices (Strings over a Piano) I have (on a Kurzweil) programmed the Modulation wheel to serve as a volume for the second layer of Strings.  Any thoughts on how I would achieve this(or similar affect) with a Motif XS?

Check out the following article from the Motif XS Behind the Manual page: Working with and Understanding Physical Controllers for the Motif XS (pdf) .

Re: Reassigning the Mod wheel

Thanks Brad.

I’ve read over that info, but (to be honest) it seems over my head at this point.  I’ll try to save and keep the info to reference at a later time, but for the time being I’ve found that I can get what I need by simply using the sliders.  I can program a layered “performance” and just use the slider to adjust a voice on the go.
