Does anyone have any opinions regarding the quality of the sounds found in Logic Express versus my mighty Mo?  I want to use the editing capabilities of Logic but use my inspiring Motif voices.

I think you are on the right track. I believe the quality of the Mo’s sounds
are such that it deserves a place in my Logic based studio. I have
thought about upgrading to the XS line, but I think the sound pallet of
the Mo is deep enough for the time being.

I would upgrade to Logic Studio. Soundtrack Pro has some tools that
Logic does not. Also the extra instruments are also well worth the price.
Plus that will unlock the EXS enabling it to be a full blown sampler.
Allowing you to sample to your hearts delight with your hard drive space
as the only limiting factor.
