Here’s my situation:

I’m sequencing a performance in (performance record) song sequencer mode.
While performing, I’m switching arps (drum patterns).

Question:  Is there a way to assign the footswitch to switch between arps rather than pushing the button by hand?

I haven’t found it in the manual, but I’m still looking!

Re: Footswitch question

Michael,

The short answer is that there is no way to switch arpeggios with a simple footswitch. For more information on this topic, see this thread .

(By the way, when posting in the shared forums, please indicate which instrument you have… it appears from your recent posts that you have a Motif XS… in this case the answer is the same as none of the Motif class synthesizers support switching arpeggios via a footswitch.)

Regards,

Brad Weber

Re: Footswitch question

Brad--
I’ve often wondered why Yamaha has never chosen to offer this controller capability in any Motif, since it seems to have been brought up often enough.  I know I’d be using it.  Is there some reason why it wouldn’t work?  And does Yamaha ever add something like that to an updated OS?  (At least then I can still hope.)

Re: Footswitch question

Thanks Brad.
I do have an XS-8.  I forgot that I wasn’t in the XS section, my bad.
I can switch the drum patterns by hand but it’s very tricky for sure.
I’m going to practice pushing the button with a pencil between my teeth.  We’ll see how that works!
