I’ve been playing a classic all these years and just picked up an ES as a spare. I only use a few patches - but they are critical sounds for me. The grand piano, rhodes, clavs, horn sections, strings - those all sound great on the ES so no problem there. But the upright bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar—the stock patches on the classic were perfect (for me) and the ones on the ES are useless to me.

Re: Sounds that were better on classic than ES
I went from the Classic to the ES and had both for a month before I sold the Classic. Overall, the sounds are brighter on the Classic. A difference in the filters, Also some waves didn’t match up exactly. There were some sounds on the Classic I couldn’t live without so I transferred them to the ES. (Look on power user documents...I believe there is a doc to explain how to transfer to the ES including songs & patterns)
