Re: Funky Jazz on the XS

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for listening and confirming it is Funky Jazz. Hahaha.

Did I do the drums myself realtime. Huh, NO!!!!!

You knew I cannot drum at all. So I created first using Band in a Box a funky piece and I stripped of the drum track as a midi track and imported it in Cubase 4. Modified it a little bit and added the remaining tracks in Cubase 4 and load it later after the final mixing into the XS8 machine.

Jan for some reason it seems to me that your songs are better on the XS.  They are more creative on the XS good job.

Hammad,

Thanks for listening. You might be right. I have a tried a distored guitar as well. I selected this sax, because it is more my style of sax playing.

Re: Funky Jazz on the XS

Jazzman,

Thanks for listening. You are absolutely right. When I use the XS8 I have to think more in musical construction and I have to play most of the tracks one by one. So you put more time in composing and playing.

When I use the TYROS3 I have the habit to go on automatic, because the T3 is doing most of the work. I admit. Guilty as charged. I will change this attitude as soon as I start to combine all my synths in one project using Cubase 4.5.2.

Re: Funky Jazz on the XS

hello jan

you have a verry good basic melodie,
i love this.

you maybee try to variant the part with folowing.
first sax,
refrain sax and stack flute,

the b part try some you like keys, piano or vibes.

then again the theme sax
and refrain sax stack flute.

this will work, i know it..

so jan happy new year
