Viewing topic "Quarter Tone, Samples Recommendation. Need help!"

Hello folks,

I am in desperate need for some help! I’m a newbie and I’m really eager to utilize my motif 8 at greater capacity than in the past.

- How do I set notes in a sound to be quarter tone? I do understand that this has to be to the individual notes but I can’t figure out how to do this via the motif menus. (this is in order to play middle-eastern scales)

- anyone has recommendations for drum samples used for film scores? (taiko?) I’d like to be able to use drum beats similar to those used in the movie “Passion of the Christ”.

- Any other recommendations on samples for film scoring?

- When importing a drum sample into a pattern (demoed in Motif DVD3), am I supposed to use an external metronome to figure out the tempo of the sample before importing? or is there a way for Motif to know the sample tempo (it doesn’t look like it based on my experiments)

I’m sure I will have some more but that should be a great start.

Many thanks for the help!
