Re: Just for fun. Salsa mmmmm

of course i thought all the sax was great , the melodies were great , the one thing i noticed though is in the percussion , the conga was hitting hi.  i don’t know how to explain a rhythm in percussion but i guess if you counted it’s the 1 , 2 , 3 ta ta
i think should’ve been 1,2,3 doon doon
did you arrange the percussion ? that change would make a big difference , maybe not on this track but hopefully this helps on your next one . nice stuff

Re: Just for fun. Salsa mmmmm

jan, that was so good. my only comment is the bass line you are playing. it is not typically salsa. with that bassline it is more like brazilian jazz.
the horn lines are excellent and the beat is nice. you need to teach me that salsa piano. this is one of your better songs.

i love salsa music as well as merengue, bachata and cumbia.

Funk Master:

Thanks for listening inspite of the fact you hate Salsa Music

Hammad:

yes partly T3. What I am doing when I am serious working, well, relaxing sitting in chair with a good cigare and a nice glass of wine, listening to a record of Duke Ellington or Stan Kenton.

Michael: thanks for listening

Mustbe:

I am glad you feel better, listening to the Salsa

Bboy:

Thanks for listening. No, I do not agree with you, I think the conga’s are just fine doing, 1,2,3 ta ta.

KylB,

Salsa, is hot. I am glad we are sharing the same passion.

About the salsa piano. What you need is a piano voice called “Octave Piano” . Or you can play two piano tracks synchrone, ofwhich one piano is one octave higher.

Try it.

Re: Just for fun. Salsa mmmmm

KylB,

There are voices for a salsa piano you do not have to use thumb and pinky finger at the same time. Those are the famous octave piano1, or octave piano2.

Its possible that those voices are only on the TYROSSEN. I am not sure.

Re: Just for fun. Salsa mmmmm

The Tyros (I assume) ROCKS with the brass sounds.  The rolls and falls are so natural and well-placed.

Nice job.  I was trying to track the chord changes so I could play along with ya on my sax… Too much work for me!  /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt=

Re: Just for fun. Salsa mmmmm

Tony,

Thanks for listening to a sort of TYROS3 demo I made. Sorry I made it hard for you to follow my chord changes. I did not really constructed this song musically correct. I was just showing off with the brass sounds. LOL.

Hey, Maybe my Funky Jazz piece is something for you. Its written in Dflat. It has some structure in it.

Anyway have a great 2009 and a lot of fun on the forums.
