Hi i just bought the Motif rack XS.
Im all happy about it, great sounds and synths.

Now for the problem i have.
I have connected my gear like this:
I have my midicontroller connected MidiOut to my MPC’s MidiIN (MusicProductioCenter). Then from the Motif’s MidiIN to teh MPC’s MidiOut. And the outputs of the Motif to my Yamaha MW12 firewiremixer.
So im recording everything on to my mpc.
I got it to work but my problem is to select the instrument i want to a midichannel.
I read that u have to go to the multi section and select Midichannels from there. Works also fine but when i press the multi button it seems that it doesnt have the instruments i want.. it only contains the drum loops and a few synths.
So how do i find the instruments i want in the multi section?
Do i like store and instrument from the voice section in to the multi? if so how?

Help me out pls im such a newbeginner on using a soundmodule.

Re: Newbeginner...

You should start by initializing a Motif-Rack XS MULTI:
Press [MUTLI] + [ENTER] simultaneously
This will create a new MULTI and you can now select the sounds that you like for each PART 1-16

Press [EDIT]
On the screen that shows up you will see [COMMON] (which is the overall parameters, and you will see PARTS 1-16
Move the cursor to PART 1
Press [ENTER]
Highlight the “VOICE” selection
Press [ENTER]
Here you can select from the variousT banks of Voices.

You can use the RIGHT CURSOR [>] arrow to move to PART 2 (the PART you are currently working on will be shown in the upper right corner).
The Right Cursor will let you move up in number and the Left Cursor back down.

This is how you select Voice. The Owner’s Manual is actually very good for this type of basic navigation information - do not assume (or take others word for it) that it is not… it will get you through the basic operations pretty well.

You can ease the task of finding Voices by using the [CATEGORY SEARCH] feature:
While on the VOICE select screen…
Press the ROTARY ENCODER to call up Category Search
There are 16 Categories: Select one. If you are looking for a drum kit, for example, select “Dr/Pc”
Move the cursor down to Sub Category and select DRUMS
Press [ENTER] to see a list of Drum Voices.
You can use the AUDITION function to hear the kit
When you select the kit you want Press [ENTER] to select the Voice and return to the Voice select screen.
Cursor Right to PART 1 (P2) and continue - in this manner you can select a VOICE for each of the 16 PARTS.

When you complete selection press [STORE].
Hope that helps.
