How do I connect an acoustic guitar to a Motif ES-8?  I have a 20 ft. microphone cable with a round, flat 3 hole end and the other end looks like a straight jack type--would this do it?  Do I need to set anything?

Re: How do I connect a guitar?

Your acoustic guitar needs to have a pickup installed in it. This is
what is called an “electro-acoustic” guitar. If it has a pickup installed,
there should be a 1/4” female ("hole") jack somewhere on the body
of the guitar, either on the lower part of one side, or on the back. If you
are having trouble understanding what this is, go to a local music
store, such as a Guitar Center, and ask them to show you a Taylor
510 guitar with built-in pickup.

Assuming your guitar has this, you can simply connect any standard
audio cable with 1/4” male jacks on both ends - one end goes into
the 1/4” female output on your guitar, the other end goes into the
left (mono) audio INPUT on the back of your ES.
