I just had to share this with all the MoBros and MoSisters.

My wife bought me one of those mouse pads with the gel-pack
cushion on it. I had been starting to feel a good deal of wrist
pain while working at my computer. The pain has completely
disappeared.

I highly recommend getting one of these mouse-pads with cushions, for just about anyone who works long hours on a computer. You can
get them at Office Depot and other similar suppliers.

Good tip Dave. I have a bit of the same problem, so I will take a look at them.

Have a great Christmas!

Re: One solution for hand-wrist pain

I have been using a padded mousepad for more than 2 years. At first, the pain go away, but after some time, i started to feel the pain again. It was not as bad as before though.

Later, I learned to use the mouse with my left hand, and I am alternating between my left and my right hand. This way the pain decreased.

Re: One solution for hand-wrist pain

Another option is to use a track-ball as a mouse alternative - slightly higher investment but it then can be sited anywhere since it doesn’t need a flat surface /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt=

Re: One solution for hand-wrist pain

or get you a wireless mouse like this:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productlanding.aspx?pid=002&cid=2&gclid=CLCA3Jib6JcCFQikHgodOVIXCA

this way you can use the mouse in any position and it feels more comfortable.

Re: One solution for hand-wrist pain

Dave, maybe it’s my rusty english but I don’t exactly understand which kind of mouse are you referring to.

Please could you post a picture or a link to such mouse?

I had much wrist pain some time ago and for a long time (it comes and goes). Fortunately I don’t have pain now but one never knows when will it come again…

Now I’m using top quality gamer mouses from Logitech (G5 at work and G9 at home) and not only they provide a fantastic refresh rate (which translates on very smooth movement and accuracy), but surprisingly the pain has gone away.

Re: One solution for hand-wrist pain

Thanks for the link, Kyle!

Yes, Albert, I was referring to a mouse pad - not a mouse.
