I’ve created a half dozen or so songs, and I worry every time I load them that I’m going to screw something up and lose them.  If I load them into my ES, then remove the drive, and insert another blank drive and save them to that drive, have I just created a duplicate drive?  I’m sure there’s a way to do it on my computer, but again I fear doing something wrong and losing it all.

The approach you suggest will work fine for making a duplicate of your ALL SONG (or ALL) file.

I never work with files of any sort on my computer, I just use it for internet use.  So anything I do will be a learning experience, with its potential for mistakes, namely accidental deletion.  I guess that’s what’s kept me from making copies thus far --- fear of deleting my songs.

Your copy of Motif files on your PC is often your only security.
Don’t lose a lot of work!
