This has been kind of tricky for me to find a way to word what I am trying to do but I will do my best....

Basically, a few days ago a friend of mine and myself met up at his house and worked on some music for a while and I had my Motif ES with me and we made a few songs with some potenital. I wanted to bring them home and work on them some more in Sonar.

I want to know what the quickest way to import that SMF that I have saved on the Motif.  I have the SMF copied onto my computer and ready to go.

Now, in the past the way I have been doing it is to import the SMF and then go through each individual midi track in Sonar and assign the midi inputs and outputs and then I have to run back and forth between my ES and my computer to check and assign the voices I used on the Motif.

I know there is an easier way and I would be so grateful if someone could help me find the quickest way to get Sonar to see the voices I have used on the ES? If that makes sense???

I must mention I am using mLAN if that adds to what you may need to know?

(mLAN16e to Yamaha 01X)

Anyone?

Instead of IMPORTING an SMF, wouldn’t it work better if you EXPORTED as .MID?

Tony,

If I am not mistaken a SMF (Standard MIDI File) is a MIDI file?
