Is there a MIDI Controller Keyboard out there that I can actually download MIDI Commands to so that they are resident in the controllers non-volatile memory and can be assigned to buttons on the controller that can trigger arbitrary MIDI setup data/sysex. I want to load this setup data into the keyboard prior to a gig and then select/mute/unmute Performance Multis during the performance without involving a DAW.

Re: “Intelligent” MIDI Keyboard

The SHORT answer is “Yes,” such things exist.

The LONG answer is, “It depends.” The M-AUDIO KSP88 can do all of that… But, there’s of course limitations on it.

The M-AUDIO Axiom controllers also can do that, with different limitations.

Any KB Controller attached to a feature-rich MIDI EVENT PROCESSOR can darn near brew coffee for you.
