Can we load Korg’s or Roland’s Drums and Pattern file on the new MOTIF ES?

Are there any changes in FILES Mode?

Thanks

Re: Are there any changes in FILES Mode on ES?

There are some changes to File mode in ES , but we do not read other manufacturer’s file formats other than importing Akai samples and programs.

The reason is simple.  Those files havea lot of parameters and information that is specific to that particular instrument.  For example, Roland has one set of effects, Korg another, the Motif is different still.

So your question was whether the motif would read drum and pattern files from Korg or Roland products.  If those drum and patterns are files are saved from the Korg and Roland as Standard MIDI Files and are mapped to GM kits ( most drum kits are ) , yes the Motif will read the note data.

The instrument specific parameters are only good on the instruments they were intended for.
