Just a small clarification:

If you want to transfer data from Motif XS to Rack XS indeed
you only need the to purchase the Total Librarian for Rack XS.

The reason is that even with the demo version of the Motif XS
Total Librarian you can receive Motif XS data and save them
to a file (.allxs format)
Then you can import this file to the Motif Rack XS Total Librarian
and transmit the data to the Motif Rack XS.

Unfortunately none of my tools can decipher X0A, X0V files—yet!

Before I purchase I just want to make sure this is correct: I have Rack XS now..

I have some performance files .
I no longer have XS board.

What is needed in order for the Rack XS to load these performance files?

I have made backups of the individual performance files as .Prf’s
also I have the All files…

John, Are you suggesting that one would still need the board XS to complete the transfer?

Or can it work without the board and use your tool?

Thats the part that John corrected me on.  The librarian still can’t read XS files.  It has to read the data directly from the XS first and then save as librarian files.  So you still need an XS to import the data to the librarian.  Once the data is imported to the librarian and saved, you can then export it to the rack at any time. 

You don’t have to purchase the Total librarian for the XS.  The demo XS version will allow you to attach the XS and import the data.  Apparently, the demo version will also allow you to save that file in the XS librarian as an .allxs file.  You will only need to purchase the rack version to open the file and load to the rack.

Hi Synthgeek,
I think I may have made a boo boo then,since I already sold the board.I have made some nice performance files when I used the board,that sadly I will not be able to carry over to my rack xs then. I should have been a bit more patient..Ouch..
I hope John will consider in the future a work around for this translation,but I can understand now why it would not work currently..

Hopefully I can link up with someone who still has the board and can translate my .perf’s or all files into an allxs file..

If you can attach the XOA file I can do it for you and save it as a librarian file and send it back.  You can PM me and we can do it over email.  If you have reservations I understand. Just find someone you know personally to do it for you.
