A brand new piano library from DCP Productions/VR sound will
be available soon at the motif mart.

“Virtual Pianos Collection” for the XS will include the VR60 and VR21 pianos, and the VR 4-layer piano, all in the same library. 3 pianos, over 190MB of samples, 48 voices total.

The pianos are Yamaha C7 and Yamaha S6 pianos, sampled by Franz Pusch in “3D” binaural sound. The C7 pianos (VR60 and VR21) were sampled to include some room reflections, while the S6 (4-layer) is a more “dry” sounding piano. Variation piano voices include detuned, vintage compressed, ring modulated ("Nine Inch Nails” style), distant empty room, and “radio speaker” versions of each piano, along with piano+strings and piano+pad layered voices.

The library also provides new “bonus” keyboard voices, including tack (saloon) piano, “premium” vibraphones with separate tonebar and resonator tube elements, 8-element CP70 electric grands with harp “over-ring”, Rhodes, Wurli, harpsichords, celesta, and clavinet. The tack piano, vibraphone and CP70 voices are not available in any other DCP/VR library, and were programmed for an even higher degree of realism.

Price will be $135.

Would you mind sharing the PDF file (I assume there is one similar to your other libraries that describe each voice), or a listing of the voices either on this thread or via private message on the board to me?  I am interested and would like to see a bit more about the library.  I enjoyed the MP3 deoms.

Dave, tell me if I have this correct.  This collection is a “best of” from your Virtual Grand Piano - Rock, Virtual Grand Piano - Classical and 4 Layer Piano for the ES.  Correct?  To this you added some additional patches such as the 12 from the CP70. Plus other assorted.

Just making sure I understand.  Also, how much sample memory does this require.  I remember that the 4 Layer Piano for ES was HUGE.  I’m sure that is necessary for quality sounds like this.

Virtual Pianos Collection is 193 MB in size. It includes the 4-Layer
piano, VR60 piano, and VR21 piano. There are 36 piano voices and 12 additional bonus voices, 2 of which are CP70 sounds, the rest are
vibes,harpsichord, clav, Rhodes, Wurli, and celesta voices.

A minimum of 256 MB of RAM is needed to use this library. I always
recommend 512MB.
