Okay here is my problem.

On the laptop my midi files are all in alpha order right? Now when I transfer them to the USB drive they are still in alpha order okay? Now when I pop that USB drive in the MM6 they are no longer in alpha order. After looking at the problem it seems that the MM6 sees these files in Modifed Date order thus making it very difficult to scroll and find a song… .

Does anyone know how to work around this? Yamaha techs don’t.

Okay guys here is the answer to the problem.

When you put in a fresh usb drive into the MM6 it creates a folder called User Files. So after sitting and thinking about it for a while I decided to copy all my midi files from the root to the folder User Files and presto! The files are now in alpha order!

Pass it on! I have informed Yamaha!
