This truely is a first and really not a bad deal. To all who are pissed off about this I ask. Did Korg offer an upgrade offer from their classic to their studio? Did Roland offer and upgrade offer from their Fantom to their FantomS. Did Kurzwiel offer and upgrade offer from their K2500 to thier K2600. The answer is NO on all accounts. They could say “screw you” and not offer it and EBAY would still be poping awith Mo Clasic sales and people would be lining up to buy this new synth. Yamaha hit it out the park.  Brian

I agree totally! Plus, they now say they may even consider the upgrade courtesy for rack owners as well. I have many results of Roland “upgrades” which are now collecting dust in my garage, so I can attest to the truth in your post.
