Sup guys. I’m not new to the Motif. I’ve been using one for about 7 years now, and I can’t figure this out. I’m using an ES-8
Here’s an example of this problem:
I record track 1 in pattern mode as a guitar. After I’m done, the notes are locked in right? So I go to mixing mode, and change the instrument of this track (still track 1) to a piano. I press “store” to lock in this change along with any others I might have made, right?
So I store it, and it says “completed”. Now, though, if I press the “rewind to beginning” button, or switch patterns and come back to this one, it’s completely reverted to my original recording settings, piano & all.
Some of my patterns I load don’t have this problem. I can change their settings, do whatever I want, without even storing the changes, and they’ll stay changed. Other times, it’s basically like “once you’ve recorded this, you can’t change anything about it until you clear the entire track”.
There’s clearly some small little setting I’m missing here for every track, the purpose being to allow you to preview other settings and easily revert back to what you originally had.
I just can’t find it. This is particularly frustrating when I’m tweaking the LFO of something in “VCE-ED” editing mode. In this case, the settings will be fine, but when I switch patterns and come back to it, it’s reverted back to the original settings also, with no LFO.
Anyways, any help would be appreciated. I’ve tried saving after changes, and even that doesn’t work. Thoughts/questions/comments??
