Hello

Many, almost all of the synth lead sounds have an echo/delay sound after them. I have been trying to get rid of this, but I can’t find where it is coming from. There are no active effects (as far as I can see). Even stranger is that sometimes I have this with normal piano sounds. Can someone please tell me how to get a tight synth sound without the echo and explain where it comes from?

Cheers,

Apekooi

Re: Strange echo/delay

Hard to say with the information you’ve given. A few ideas…

Is your Motif ES connected to anything via midi or USB?

Is your modulation wheel (the one on the right) in the up position?

Is the Master Effect button lit up?

Have you tried a Factory Reset? (Utility > Job > Enter > Yes)

Let us know…

Bob

Re: Strange echo/delay

You can ensure that it is not the Motif ES by simply pressing the EFFECT BYPASS buttons on the front panel…

Bob is right… When you say echo/delay, that is not really descriptive enough, because it could be an effect, it could be MIDI feedback, it could be your mixer (you don’t tell us what you are plugged into), it could be lots of different things… but you can eliminate internal effects by pressing the EFFECT BYPASS buttons on the front panel and make sure the MASTER EFFECT is not lit.

If you still are getting echo/delay - then you know it is external to the Motif ES.
