Hi I recorded some strings and when I soloed ‘m I hear the action of the hammers.. I attached an example with a variation to show it’s not metronome bleed.
No mics are on recording to pattern mode.

Re: Hammer sound on strings

Your post is unclear. What do you mean by “hammers” and “strings”?

Did you record real live string players on their violins, violas, and cellos? Did you record the strings of a piano? Did you record the output from your Motif which was set to a string sound?

Please be more specific.

*no MICS are on, recording in pattern mode*.
I am recording es strings in the es to the es in pattern mode. I am hearing a knocking sound on playback.
I’m flattered that you couldn’t tell it was me playing the es, for me and yamaha :-)...u did listen to the attachment?

Re: Hammer sound on strings

Yes I listened to the attachment.

It sounds like the attack envelopes for your string sounds are all set to the fastest rate possible, although even at that you wouldn’t get a sound like that.

Without being there in your studio with you I can’t really tell you what
is going on - something isn’t right, but it’s too difficult to solve it “remotely” for you.

Well then let’s put it in your studio. I attached the w7 and 8p file. See if it does the same on yours.
Thanks

Re: Hammer sound on strings

I looked at your file.

All you have to do is this:

1. Go to pattern mode and load your pattern, called “Knock”.
2. Press MIXING button.
3. Press TRK 6 button, where your strings are.
4. Press F4 (TONE).
5. Change the attack on Part 06 to “+18”. You’ll hear the attack get smooth.

Here’s what is happening - the string waveform contains body and attack noise at its beginning. Your pattern is retriggering the envelope (forcing it to start over) without letting the amp EG travel through its sustain segment. So the attacks are just getting re-triggered over and over again.
