I used to own a Motif ES6… I still have my ES song/pattern files stored on my computer, and I want to integrate all that work with my new platform (Ableton Live, Soft Synths, Stylus RMX, etc...)....

I am thinking about getting a Motif ES Rack… I know the rack doesn’t have a sequencer, but is there any way to get my Motif ES6 files (phrases, patterns, songs), I guess as audio, into my DAW (Ableton Live), multi-tracked and sectioned like the ES6’s sequencer, but via the use of the ES Rack? Does the ES Rack even read ES6 phrases that are parts of patterns, even though it doesn’t have a sequencer? What would this process entail? Thanks…

Re: Motif ES6 Patterns put into DAW via ES Rack?

Nope; the RACK doesn’t understand that.  Not even the arpeggios are editable.

Your best bet might be to have someone with an ES convert those things to MIDI files that you can then import into the DAW and resquence, if necessary, or play out to the RACK then record the Audio.
