Hi MO friends,

I wonder, when I connect my MOTIFES8 to an XS Rack with mLAN board (using midi from ES8 to XS Rack) do I get full acess to the new mLAN generation, so I can benefit the full integration of the Cubase 4.5 features. Sorry for my english, but this is a difficult materie. I can use the ES8 as midi controller, controlling the XS rack and then can connect the XS rack via mLAN to a MR816CSX and perhaps the N12 mixer.

Instead of trading in my ES8 for an XS8.

Friends, incl. Bad Mister, is that not the most efficient/economical way to go for me? tos switch over to the new generation of mLAN etc. etc. etc.

Re: Is the XS rack the gateway to the new generation

i suppose you would have almost all the features as the XS workstation with that setup. You would have the sequencing/sampling covered with the ES workstation, and you would have the sound engine of the XS. you would NOT have the extra sliders/knobs and fancy LCD screen of the XS workstation… and im not familiar with the inputs/outputs of the workstations, so there might be pros and cons in that regard.

note: the rack xs does NOT come with mLAN16E2 installed… you might already know this

Gutwrench,

I am almost sure that you can order the mLAN16E2 board as an option for the XS rack. Nevertheless I will check it out on the internet.

Thanks for your comments
