Hello,

I just purchased a Motif ES Rack. I am using my synthesizer as a midi controller, and hooked it up to the Motif using a midi cable.

For some reason, I can only play chords. If I try to play a single note, it will not play. Is there some setting I need to change to be able to play single notes? Is there something wrong with my midi controller perhaps? Any help would be appreciate. Being brand new to to the Motif, I understand there is a lot I need to learn. Thank you.

Well, I guess it was my midi controller. I plugged in a different keyboard and the motif works fine now.

Thats good news, and bad news… as I now found a defect on my synthesizer.

Some MIDI controllers have a Chord mode. My controller has such a mode and it actually comes in handy for some Devo tunes. Anyway...You may have entered such a mode accidentally.
