I got the sonar 6 XL, edirol FA101, yamaha Mo8 and a Dell laptop. I have window XP home edition. The sound card connects to the laptop via firewire.

When I’m recording and audio track, I get static noise or I’m not sure if it’s what’s call “clicks and pops”. I get this when I’m using my laptop but on a faster desktop computer, I never had the problem.

I’ve follow instructions on how to change the software to limit clicks and pops but still getting it. I’m not sure if it’s the computer memory or the wiring.

any advice what to do?

Re: static on recording - help

I had that issue using a firewire card that wasn’t working well with the Audio Box’s hardware (it was a M-Audio Firewire 410).  Using an appropriate Firewire card fixed the issue.

Re: static on recording - help

Try to go to Options/Audio and change letancy from “fest” to “safe”. If that does not fix the problem, increase the buffer size.
