I’m trying to get a sense on what people do when they purchase new voice libraries, place them on a USB stick and load them into the MO. My delima is this: I purchased the 80 pop sound voice library, which by the way, has some great, great voices in it. I also purchased the Axxe voice library. I loaded the 80’s library and it loaded into the User 1 voice bank. I want to load the Axxe voice library as well, but I don’t want to write over the User 1 bank nor any other bank for that matter. So what do people usually do? Do load the library, listen to all the voices, find the one you want and load into a PRE voice bank you know you will never use? And after I have several songs in the Song bank and they use a voice that has been replaced, I imagine that song will not play with the correct voice as when it was recorded.

Preset Voices cannot be overwritten, sorry. PRESET Voices are burned in at the factory and are permanent. USER locations - you can overwrite.

Don’t look like he’s on there any more. Don’t know if he was doing something he wasn’t supposed to be doing or just quit selling or just taking a break.

Re: Managing new voices on MO 8
Hi all. I’ve just purchased a mo6, so I’m absolutely newbie (on yamaha-style, not on keyboards /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt=. I’ve spent quite time reading this great forum and relating docs.

I’ve been doing other stuff and I’m a bit rusty on Studio Connections and I’m not in the studio now…

Re: Managing new voices on MO 8
Thank you for your answer, Tacman. But I’m afraid Voice Editor does not open .??v files, neither .??a (I mean, .w7v, .w7a...). Only supports .??e (.w7e, for instance).

Re: Managing new voices on MO 8
Just another basic question regarding this issue: do I get the same results loading voices banks from different sources (Classic, ES and Rack) into my mo6?

Re: Managing new voices on MO 8
Yes, that’s my point, kevinb. I’ve tried to open w7v files with Studio Manager, but it only allows w7e files. I’m trying to avoid load files onto the mo6 and then bulk the voices to the soft.
