Sustain pedal on my daughter’s Motif 6 has stopped working.  We can’t figure out how to fix this issue.  An suggestions?

A few questions:
What type of sustain pedal is it?
Of course, you have it in the proper jack, but on what Voice are you testing it? ... obviously not all Voices will respond to sustain pedal… but we assume you are testing it on a piano Voice.

If all else fails… you can reset the MM6… warning: this will clear all stored settings so you may want to backup any songs or setups you have created to a USB drive.

the unit will be returned to just “out-of-the-box” condition - same as the day you purchased it.

Power down the MM6
HOLD down the highest key on the keyboard, “C”
Power ON the unit.
