My xs8/cubase AI4/studio manager are all setup.
I can record MIDI signals from xs8 (thru usb) onto MIDI tracks in Cubase.
What I want to do is....(big breath)
I want to record the actual voice e.g. Wurli EP that I am playing, onto an AUDIO track so that it can be exported as an audio mixdown for a CD.

Doesnt the xs8 and cubase perform this MIDI to AUDIO function without having to buy an mbox($200/$300)?

Basically how do I record xs8 MIDI sounds to CD, as a WAV,AIFF,MP3 without losing any audio quality!

Does the XS8 come with the Mlan built in?

If it does then that is the way to do it.

If it doesn’t then unfortunately, like the rest of us you would need to purchase a pro soundcard and route the audio outs of the XS through that and into Cubase where you would create a mix and then export the audio file which can then be grabbed by a CD burning software such as Roxio or Nero or other.

Of course, all the Motif XS range can be equipped with an Mlan card which would mean shifting audio across from the XS in the digital domain down a Firewire cable. The firewire/mlan setup can also route your midi signal (rather than a MIDI cable or USB connection)

For 100% quality there is always internal resampling to a max.
of +- 300 seconds.
Performance recommended. DIMMs mandatory.

From there, save as WAV, copy to PC and burn directly to CD.

Yep, the Mlan ports are just under the USB drive slot on the XS8.
