I see nowhere in the manual or menu about having to assign the digital output.  Is this by default the same as “main” output or “always on?”

Also, is it possible to change the bitrate from 24 bit to 16 bit on the Rack unit?

I spoke with Yamaha customer support and it is in fact an “always on” feature.

My only prob is that I have an old Edirol Audio Capture that only handles 16bit digital (it was cheap).  So, I’ll have to invest in a new audio interface. 

Right now I’m think about getting the Focusrite Saffire LE (seems to have the most features for the money).  Is anyone familiar with this unit?  If so, let me know what you think!

I thought about getting the mlan16e2, but I also plan on recording other instruments onto my computer (this is a new move from my present digital recorder), so an interface with multiple inputs would best suit me.
