Anyone know where I can find the ini for my ES6?
Just starting to get back into sequencing after a long time and I can’t seem to find any thing.
Also when using Sonar should I be in performance mode on the ES?
Thanks for putting up with a question that has probably been asked before....I did a search but did not find anything.

Hee hee… Searched far and wide but didn’t look under your nose.  /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt=

On the menu bar at the top of this screen, click MOTIFMART, then on the left side menu click FILES/SOFTWARE, then scroll down to the CAKEWALK section.  Yours is the Fourth file.

Even though all that stuff is in the MART section, they’re free for the taking.  If you have USER voices stored away, those, of course, won’t be reflected, you’ll need to hand-edit the file to update it before you IMPORT it.

(By the way, I’m assuming you meant .INS file, not .INI file.)

I told you it’s been awhile /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt= Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Should I be in performance mode while sequencing in Sonar?

Thanks again!

Re: Motif ES INI files

I’m a RACK user, where it’s called a MULTI, but I think you’re right.

Hopefully someone else can help clarify shortly.

Re: Motif ES INI files

Generally speaking you should be in one of the Motif ES’s multi-timbral modes when sequencing (i.e. song or pattern mode).

In Voice and Performance modes the Motif Es’s tone generator will only respond to a single MIDI channel and therefore it cannot simultaneously generate different voices for the different sequenced tracks.

Brad Weber
