Does anyone have the steps to set up my MO8 in song mode to transmit a song to Sonar? For example, if I have a song on the MO8 that has 6 tracks and is recorded with 120 measures and I want to “move” the song from the MO8 sequencer to Sonar, how would I go about setting that up. I want each of the 6 tracks to transmit to 6 tracks in Sonar. |

Re: steps for setting up song mode to record to So
While it is certainly possible to setup the MO and Sonar in order to record a song you created on the MO into Sonar, probably the easiest way to accomplish what you are after would be to simply save the song as a standard MIDI file on a USB mass storage device and then connect that device to your computer and load the MIDI file into Sonar.

Re: steps for setting up song mode to record to So
Thanks Brad.I will try to save it as a MIDI file and load into Sonar. I think I saw directions on how to do that either here or in the MO manual. In sonar when I want to record a new song that has 8 tracks using the mo do I set up sonar with 8 midi tracks one on each channel? Then waht else do I do? This is the part I can’t seem to get right. Under track properties there is an Input, Output, Channel and Bank. This is were I get confused. I am using a Alesis IO26 interface. Finally do I need to load the MO8 intstruments into the MO? I didn’t see one for the MO8 so can I use the Motif one?
