In another thread people are talking about the best prices in US/Europe for an S90. Since I’m looking to buy an S90, but import duties & shipping would be a killer to buy from over there, I thought I’d find out what people are paying on Oz. Where did you buy your S90 (& which state was the shop in) and what accessories did you get thrrown in for the price? |

Re: S90 prices
Try Pro Audio in Canberra. They quote very competitive prices over the phone. I have found them a cut above most in the music trade. Their site is at http://www.proaudio.com.au. They stock many Yamaha products including the Motif etc.

Re: S90 prices
I’ve recently purchased a S90 from Turramarra Music store in Sydney for $3500.00. I thought it is a pretty good price. It’s about 25% discount from the retail price.

Re: S90 prices We get them in the U.S. for under $2,000.What is a dollar worth in Australia. And buy the way did any of you guys in Oz ever hear about Robert Theobald, a futures economist who passed away (in Dec. 1999 I think). In April May 1998 He was interviewed on Austrailian Radio for 6 Sundays.Very interesting. |

Re: S90 prices
$2000 US = $3012 AUD so you get them for less than $3000 AUD ....

Re: S90 prices Our dollar is around 66 US cents. More to the point it is about 80 Yen and the $US is about 120 Yen. In both cases it is about 2/3 which means comparing our prices with the U.S. prices is fairly valid. It would be interesting to know the prices in Japan so we could make a more direct comparison. I think we pay 30% import duty as well as 10% GST, which is on the retail price. I guess that means we’re paying tax on the import duty as well as the original price of the item. Sigh. |

Re: S90 prices If you’re in Melbourne definitely go to Troy’s House of Music, Prahran - they also do a very good deal (3500 if you cough up on the day) |
