In reading some of the postings I’m started to get some of this. Nevertheless, wisdom and experience is always welcome. Currently I have the MotifRackES, Korg 49 Controller, Tascam 1804. I’ve heard the demo from the rack, but I’d like to be able to record some of the different instruments myself through Sonar 4 Pro Edition. From what I’ve been reading, can’t use Cubase SL3. Midi, USB or both. What do you do? Really want to get this thing cranking |

Re: Help w/ New Setup Man that was great! Appreciate looking out for newbie. Plugged in with USB, can now hear sounds from module. Next step is to follow up w/ this thread and work with multi and different channels. Question! Any experience with either Cubase SL3 or Sonar Pro 4 and MotifES rack? Once again opinion and/or wisdom greatly appreciated |

Re: Help w/ New Setup I have experience with both but what is the question. You say you heard you can’t use them… My question is why would anyone tell you that and did you question that person on why you can’t use them? |

Re: Help w/ New Setup
First, the guys at the store couldn’t give me a straightforward way to make sure I had the processes down. Always a kinda matter-of-fact type of response. For instance “make sure you do this and don’t forget that! Should be able to figure it out from there.” As for why, couldn’t give a me a good answer. Doesn’t really make for good help. I’ve gotten more assistance through this forum than what I gotten locally. I feel that I’m so close yet still far away. After investing in software and hardware, I would really like to see the potential in both come out. I’ve done the rewire thing using reasons 3.0 w/both cubase sl3 and sonar 4. Yet the instruments in the rack are amazing.

Re: Help w/ New Setup
Still don’t see a real question…
If you are using the Motif-Rack ES as your MIDI interface this means that MIDI IN/OUT = USB, then any track in Cubase or Sonar (why do you have both?) will echo back the signal based on the information in the track inspector.
