I’ve been using Cubase for some years, but I plan to go Logic. How well are MotifXS and Logic integrated?

Re: MotifXS and Logic?

If it is anything like the rest of the line it will be fine. The only problem
is that both Logic and the Motif are monsters to get your head around
and it just takes time. If you dont expect to do everything
right away, you will be fine.

Re: MotifXS and Logic?

Thanks! A couple of learning curves will be okay. As long as sliders & knobs work all right in Logic.

Re: MotifXS and Logic?

In fact I was nicely surprised by the implementation of the
DAW REMOTE mode. Though, in Logic, you do have to set
up a “Logic Control” control surface in the set up window. The
amount of control from the keyboard was pretty good. There
was no real documentation for what is controlled but a INFO
button on the MO does give a little info on which button and
slider does what.

I know it is not as good as a dedicated control surface and
there is one detail that has to be a factor since you cant use
the control surface while controlling the keyboard since the
unit uses the same buttons for controlling both. Fortunately,
the board can switch back and forth pretty seemlessly. Of
course this is only my observations on a MO6. We will
have to find out the way the XS has implemented the
feature.
