You know, I haven’t heard the new PLG’s, but the idea puts a much bigger smile on my face than the AW1000G because:
1) If the PLG sound quality is equal to MOTIF’s internal drums or percussion, why wouldn’t I want both PLG’s?
2) It definitely would resolve polyphony issues concerning drums and percussion, in addition to NOT robbing other lead instruments of polyphony.
3) It will add a larger variety of sounds, patterns, and effects to my arsenal.
4) It will most likely give me a reason to install the output expansion board or buy a MOTIF 6 to be used as one big drum machine.
5) BOTH expansion boards are only about $100 more than Roland’s DR770 Drum Machine which I’ve considered buying, and still may buy for the 400 rhythm patterns alone.
Guess I’m trying to convince myself here, and possibly help others, to go for the Drum and Percussion PLG’s! What do you guys think? Paul.
