can cubase AI 4 make the same song, pattern edit/job functions that one can do on the motif xs? I don’t have a propper pc yet so I’m just reading the manual of the xs for now… I think it would be easier to do these functions on cubase if they are possible to do.

AI is a lite version of Cubase meant to generate interest in the full versions. It has many editing features and does similar things to the Motif editor, is more versatile and has many more features. But AI by itself is not an identical XS editor as such...it edits and records MIDI and audio and can do many of the same things you can do in the Motif. They don’t work in exactly the same way, but can also complement each other. So, maybe ‘get your feet wet’ and do a little exploring? We have no idea how you work, what you want to accomplish eventually and how you prefer to work. AI is free, so perhaps try it. You may actually enjoy working on a computer monitor, rather than hitting little buttons and using sub sub menus on a workstation. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt= Hope this helps...........frank

yea… I eh.. just wanted to know if it is possible to have similar editing/job capacity on cubase than on the motif, I can’t get dirty yet since I need to save to get a pc ..

if the editing capacity is superior on cubase (as I suppose) I will only read through the song/pattern , edit/job parts of the XS manual, and not concentrate so much on it.

do you or anyone understand my question?  : S

There are advantages for some to edit in a workstation while others will use a program like Cubase. You have a workstation so why not learn all of its features....you paid for them. Then when you get a PC, learn Cubase. Then you will know both and be able to take advantage of both in any way YOU choose. Learning only half of only one or the other would mean you would not have enough information to decide what to use and when. I suggest it would be to your advantage to learn as much as you can about your workstation now, especially since you don’t even have a music computer yet.................frank
